Fitting
- Park as usual, gently open the door up to the wall and mark with a pencil where the edge touches.
- Clean that part of the wall (dust, flakes of plaster) and let it dry thoroughly.
- Measure the length you need and cut the strip with scissors.
- Peel the film off the adhesive, line the strip up with the mark and press it on, starting from one end.
- Run your hand firmly over the whole surface so the adhesive grips, even on a rough wall.
- Repeat on the pillars and corners where the door or bumper might touch.
Why choose this garage wall protector
Cars are getting bigger, garages aren't. Between the pillar, the wall and the neighbour's car, there are often only a few centimetres left to open the door. A gust of wind, a child flinging it open or a moment's inattention, and the door edge hits the concrete. The result: a paint chip that, over time, can even rust.
A foam wall-mounted door protector solves the problem for good. This strip is 20 cm wide, which covers the height of the door edge on different cars, and 1 cm thick, enough to cushion the knock without eating into the space too much. It sticks on instead of screwing in, a real plus for a rented garage or a parking space in a shared building.
It also works as a guide when you park: you can see straight away how far to pull in. For a longer wall or several pillars, order several rolls and fit them end to end. It's a small expense compared with a bodywork touch-up.
Open the door in the garage without worrying about the wall
In a narrow garage or an underground car park, it only takes a second: the door opens a little too far, the edge hits the wall or the pillar, and the paint is left with a mark. Having a door edge touched up at a body shop quickly costs more than you'd think. This garage wall protector is a strip of ribbed NBR foam, 20 cm wide and 1 cm thick, to stick on the wall exactly where the door meets it. The foam takes the knock, not your car.
The benefits at a glance
- 20 cm wide, 1 cm thick
It covers a wide strip of wall and protects the door edge even if you don't always park in exactly the same spot. - Ribbed NBR foam
The ribbed surface is soft and springy: it absorbs the knock instead of passing it to the bodywork, and returns to shape after every contact. - Adhesive already on the back
Peel off the film, position it, press. No drill, no wall plugs, no screws in the garage wall. - Cuts with scissors
The 2 m roll cuts to the length you need: a section of wall, a pillar, a corner. - Resists water and oil
NBR foam copes with garage damp as well as oil splashes when you're working on the car. - Discreet or easy to see
A shade that's discreet on a white wall, or clearly visible as a parking guide.
