Why choose this car assist handle

Getting in and out of a car means leaning over, twisting your upper body and then standing up by pushing with your legs. Nothing complicated, until the day your back locks, your knee has just been operated on or you're eight months pregnant. The factory grab handles above the door are often too far back or too high, and many cars have none at all on the driver's side. So you haul yourself up by pulling on the open door, which moves and doesn't hold.

An assist handle fixed to the window frame puts the hold exactly where you stand up, and the adjustable strap lets you set it for each person. It's real help for people who take their parents to the doctor, for anyone recovering from an operation and for mums-to-be.

Unlike rigid aids that slot into the door striker, this one doesn't touch your car's lock: it goes on by hand, doesn't get in the way on the door and comes off without leaving a mark.

A solid hold for getting in and out of the car

For an older person, a pregnant woman or someone with back pain, the hardest part of the journey is getting out of the seat. You grab the door, which moves, the headrest or the dashboard, and none of them are made to take your body weight. This car assist handle fixes around the window frame and gives you a firm hold just above your head, exactly where you need it. The nylon strap adjusts from 18 to 50 cm and the non-slip rubber grip is 13 cm long, enough for your whole hand.

The benefits at a glance

  • Fixes to the window frame
The strap goes around the top of the door frame and closes with the buckle: no screws, no drilling, nothing to dismantle.
  • Strap adjustable from 18 to 50 cm
With the buckle, you set the handle at the right height: higher for getting out of an SUV, lower for a low car.
  • 13 cm rubber grip
The rubber is non-slip and shaped for your fingers: the grip stays secure even with cold or wet hands.
  • Tough nylon
The strap is a sturdy nylon band, and the plastic buckle opens and closes with one hand.
  • On any door with a frame
Front or back, driver's or passenger's side: the door just needs to have a window frame.
  • Moves from car to car
It comes off in a few seconds and goes into your children's car or a hire car on holiday.
