How to use it
- Switch off the engine and all electrical equipment, then open the bonnet.
- Connect the red clamp to the positive terminal (+) and the black one to the negative terminal (−): the tester switches on.
- Using the arrows, choose the battery type (standard, AGM, GEL or EFB) and the standard shown on the label.
- Enter the CCA value printed on the battery and press ENTER.
- Read the voltage, internal resistance, CCA, charge and health, then remove the black clamp first, followed by the red one.
Why choose this car battery tester
The battery is the number one cause of breakdowns in winter: the cold reduces the current it can deliver at exactly the moment the engine needs it most. An ageing battery can seem fine for months, then give up on the first frosty morning. A two-minute check in autumn tells you whether it will last until spring or whether it's better to replace it before it fails.
This tester goes further than a voltmeter. It measures internal resistance and cranking current, compares the battery with the CCA value on its label and works out its state of health as a percentage: a concrete figure rather than a guess. It also recognises the AGM and EFB batteries of Start & Stop cars, which are expensive and best replaced only when really necessary.
It's handy for DIY enthusiasts, families with several vehicles, car, motorbike or motorhome, and anyone whose car often sits unused. And it saves you throwing away a battery that's still good just because the car didn't start once.
Find out if your battery will make it through winter
A battery gives no warning: one day the car starts, the next the starter motor struggles, then nothing at all. A simple voltmeter isn't enough, because a worn battery often still reads 12.6 V. This digital car battery tester also measures internal resistance and cold cranking amps (CCA), then shows the battery's state of charge and state of health as a percentage. It works on 12 V and 24 V batteries, including the AGM, GEL and EFB batteries in Start & Stop cars.

The benefits at a glance
- Five readings in one test
Voltage, internal resistance (mΩ), cold cranking amps CCA, state of charge (SOC %) and state of health (SOH %): you know whether the battery is just flat or needs replacing. - 12 V and 24 V
For 12 V lead-acid batteries in cars and motorbikes, and 24 V batteries in lorries and machinery. - Standard, AGM, GEL and EFB
Choose the battery type in the menu, including the AGM and EFB batteries of Start & Stop cars, and the standard: CCA, IEC, SAE, EN, DIN or CA. - Large LCD screen
All the readings are shown at once, clear at a glance, with a gauge that tells you whether the battery is good or needs changing. - Built-in protection
Protection against overvoltage and reverse polarity: swapping the clamps won't damage it, and it warns you of a poor contact. - Nothing to take apart
Two clamps, red and black, on the terminals and four buttons (arrows, ESC, ENTER, RESET).
